Slot machines are addictive. Of course they are. But it's not compelling in the same way as a memorable campaign with great set pieces and a fleshed-out universe with great characters.
Or wait and see if the game delivers new and exciting gameplay and AI improvements to make the resolution and FPS sacrifice worthwhile. Then buy it after launch, reviews and YT footage hits rather than pre-order.
A game doesn't have to hit 1080/60 to be worth playing, and can justify weaker visuals with awesome gameplay. Just look at the original Deus Ex, which was graphically horrible even at the time yet is still probably the best game ever made. BUT... if Unity doesn...
So we shouldn't at least discuss it? Or ask why we shouldn't expect more from our games regardless of what platform we're on? I don't buy that.
I don't really get that logic. Only weeks ago sites like IGN and Gamespot were being blamed for being too lenient to big AAA titles like this, but now they're somehow in the wrong for using the full review scale?
I don't buy it. But I haven't disagreed with you, because "Personally I will decide for myself tomorrow. I have a mind of my own" is absolutely the right approach. DriveClub has got to be worth a free download, and if it's enjoyable, it&...
Oh, I'm going to buy a PS4 at some point, but for me the console doesn't make a compelling case yet. I've got a half-decent rig for my indie games, a Vita and PS3 for my beloved localised Japanese titles and an Xbox One for a handful of exclusives. And a 3DS for everything else.
I think that Bloodborne (looking incredible!) and one other major exclusive, perhaps The Order (still not sure) or preferably GoW/Uncharted 4, will be enough to make me march down to the s...
It's got a lot of heart, but I can't help but wish that it was shorter, more polished and released at the cheaper £15 tier.
Stealth fans should definitely check it out though.
Destiny has barely any meaningful content IMO. Loot and levelling is *not* content, it's a slot machine. Stages are recycled. Encounters are samey and boring. Enemies lack variation.
It's all endgame content without a game to play through first. Enjoyable endgame content to be sure, but none of it is meaningful, and so much of it is designed to addict you to the loot grind rather than enjoying a masterfully constructed shooter.
"KING" is pus...
Yep, same here. I don't consider PA to be in an acceptable state yet and it's poor form to start crowd-funding their next game.
Dood! I'll be getting it on Vita, dood, when it eventually comes out with all the DLC (Doodloadble Content, dood).
Ahem.
Bayonetta 2.
So, yeah.
The controls work, but the ergonomics don't. Playing this on a regular 3DS is horrible and a sure-fire way to develop crippling arthritis (hyperbolic exaggeration go! :P ).
A 3DS XL, however, is comfortable enough. The larger screen gives you an edge, too, and lets you appreciate the visuals.
Looks like F-22 Raptors are the hallmark of a great game. Bayonetta 2? F-22s. Ace Combat? F-22s. Disgaea 5? Shoe-in.
"Surprise! There's NO DLC. Just a dribble of free cars and a few little tweaks."
That'd suit me.
Dinklage doesn't come cheap.
It's fine now, btw.
I've never seen the like before: endgame content packaged as an actual game. Seriously, a decent plot, curated levels and great set pieces would have worked wonders.
I think that The Crew will be the last opportunity for Ubisoft to prove that Uplay is worth a damn. If we get 'unable to connect to server' issues in launch week, that'll cripple both the game and what little credibility the platform has left.
"It's just annoying, and for most gamers, there's also barely any benefit."
That.
Yeah, that's the smart play. That means you get to see some reviews/YT footage first too and make an assessment.
@mydyingparadiselost: I think I may have just fallen in love with your comment. I'd kinda like to take it out to dinner. Maybe a movie.
But yes, awesome innovative quality titles don't sell as well as Modern Battle Madden Fighter, yet developers like Platinum just put out great games because they can make a modest return and stay in the business of creating wonderful things for us to play.
The alternative, jay2, is Bayonetta 2 would never have been ma...
Yep. I'm very cynical of a lot of Youtubers out there, but it's always great to see a passionate gamer get excited and angry about the good and bad parts of any game - especially since it's clear that games are played through comprehensively rather than rushed. GG AJ.
